Nothing can separate you from Love – YouTube Version
My woods are coming alive! The foliage is coming in and so are the nasty bugs. It is wild, untamed beauty.
Some plants are native, some are invasive and do damage to the native plants. IN another months time, this will be so filled in that I won’t be able to come here. It will be pure jungle!
It is obvious to see which plants are beneficial, and which ones are native. The vine overtakes everything and suffocates it, while the thorny locust tree divides if you cut it down. It’s thorns can penetrate into the toughest of skin. But you know what God things about them all? Each and everyone is especially lovely. Especially beautiful. Why would these seemingly low lifes be loved? Because, like us, they were created lovingly by God. God is mother nature. His loving hand is in all creation.
Breathe on us, Spirit Come. You’re our heart’s desire! Come like a rushing wind, come light the fire again, Lord. come like a burning flame. Have your way. Have your way.
There are some of you on this Easter weekend feeling hopeless. Like there is no hope for you. You are in a lost place right now. Maybe you are a prostitute, a murderer, a rapist, a thief, a sex trafficker. Maybe God is calling to you, but you just feel in your heart that you have done too many bad things in your life that no one would ever want you. Especially the creator of heaven and earth…
Let me stop you in your tracks right now. Do you know what, sweetheart!?!? You’re NOT THAT POWERFUL!!
Romans 8:38-39 – For I am convinced neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus is our Lord.
DO YOU HEAR THAT!?!? There is no thing. NOTHING that you can do to make God NOT love you! Even if you broke all of the 10 commandments, every single one, God would still love you – just exactly as he did when he first formed in your mothers womb.
Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart;
God has also set you apart. he has a specific design and purpose for you!!!
Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.
God’s Word Translation – Plans for peace and NOT disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.
God has plans… FOR YOU!!! It doesn’t matter what you have done, God wants to use you for good, and have a loving father relationship with you. Many of you have no idea what a good father is… what he would look like. You have been hurt so badly by past experiences that the last thing you want in your life is a father.
Can I ask you though… Have you EVER known anyone. Anyone in your life that would die for you? I’ve known a lot of selfless people. Many honorable people. But none have I ever known that would knowingly take on every curse, every burden, every shame, every evil deed of the current time and for all future generations upon himself. In this humanly existence, it is easy to be prideful and selfish, thinking only on your own existence. But not God. He just wants to love you!
John 16:33 – I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.
John 15: 9-13 – Jesus, God’s son says, “I have loved you even as the Father (God) has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so you will be filled joy. yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Vs. 16-17 goes on to say, “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the father will give you what you ask for using my (Jesus’) name. This is my command: Love each other.
In this passage, Jesus says there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. That’s exactly what happened… isn’t it?
But there is a key word in that passage: Friends. We all know that Jesus died for us, but to know that in advance he considers us all to be friends!!
I’ve always been a loner in life. Always had a hard time making and keeping friends. But to know that God considers me to be a friend… without asking, without prompting or probing me, without me even KNOWING! I had a true friend all along. One who won’t abandon, deceive, lie or hurt me. One who only wants to help me and make good things out of bad. Not only that – but a friend who willingly received one of the most brutal deaths of all time. For ME! For YOU!!!
This sounds like a friend I would really want to know. Does it to you?
And we believe and we know the love that God has for us, for God is love and everyone who lives in love, lives in God! So, you see – there is nothing you can do to separate you from God’s love! Jesus has already paid your ransom. All you have to do is reach out with your heart and mind and proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord!
When you do, your mind will be transformed. God will start showing his beautiful and perfect will for you, and slowly as you look to him more and more you will realize his grace and mercy.
You see, even if you despise God, hate, loathe, or even refuse to believe that God even exists. You are still very special to him, for you are a child of his as he has a beautiful hand in your creation.
Just as each plant is so particularly lovely, you are even more so. Thorns and all!
