Pain? Blah!

I have been in very bad pain past couple of months due to constant headache.

It has been so interesting listening to God’s sweet whisperings to me during the pain. It is amazing how God doesn’t create the pain – that’s satan’s job… but how God uses these trials to teach you beautiful lessons.

I’ve been taught a lesson of endurance through it all. I’ve had to co-manage our company while remain calm with our 2, stay at home wee ones. Either of those in and of itselves are not easy tasks. I have also learned to give myself grace over medication to have any kind of function as a person among the living.

Most days I just want to curl up in the fetal position and hold my head and just lay there in the dark. No sound, no light, no anything. But, you know – life doesn’t stop. Someone always needs you, there are always things to be done. God has given me grace, so I need to allow myself grace too.

This song I absolutely love. It really has nothing to do with what I am facing in my life right now – just that it talks about “when oceans rise, I’ll rest in your embrace.” I feel like I am in a rising ocean and God is really “Fixing my eyes above the waves”. There is more to be done in life than wallowing in my own misery. This theme has been what has kept me going over the past year.

When I first learned this song, I had just re-devoted myself to Jesus, and I couldn’t sing the song without crying. Crying out of feeling lost, broken, and desperate. Now, I sing the song rejoicing! I rejoice because I know that Jesus has already defeated my sickness! He has defeated my depression! He has defeated satan at the grave!!!

There is nothing that can hold Jesus back. Not 2,000 years ago, and certainly not now. Not in our world, not in our country, not in my life, and not in yours. Listen to Him ~ he has something to say to you.

I love you all so much! Thank you for following me. I hope the song blesses you.

Judging Others

Matthew 7:2 For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
This has really been on my mind a lot lately. It is so easy to pass judgement on anyone – even with a glance of disgust at them wearing something YOU might not approve of or didn’t do their hair – or maybe their homeless. Maybe their a drug addict. Maybe anything this person does disgusts you. And with a single thought – you pass judgment on them in your mind.
Did you know that Jesus never did that?!? He ALWAYS showed compassion for people in this nature of being. He always showed them kindness, love, mercy and GRACE. If he wouldn’t have treated these people in this way, I wouldn’t be able to experience these things either.
It is important that if you believe in Jesus with your whole heart and mind that you try to live as he lived. After all, we are made in Christ’s likeness… we might as well try to act like Christ!

Nothing Can Separate You From Love!!!

Nothing can separate you from Love – YouTube Version

My woods are coming alive! The foliage is coming in and so are the nasty bugs. It is wild, untamed beauty.

Some plants are native, some are invasive and do damage to the native plants. IN another months time, this will be so filled in that I won’t be able to come here. It will be pure jungle!

It is obvious to see which plants are beneficial, and which ones are native. The vine overtakes everything and suffocates it, while the thorny locust tree divides if you cut it down. It’s thorns can penetrate into the toughest of skin. But you know what God things about them all? Each and everyone is especially lovely. Especially beautiful. Why would these seemingly low lifes be loved? Because, like us, they were created lovingly by God. God is mother nature. His loving hand is in all creation.

Breathe on us, Spirit Come. You’re our heart’s desire! Come like a rushing wind, come light the fire again, Lord. come like a burning flame. Have your way. Have your way.

There are some of you on this Easter weekend feeling hopeless. Like there is no hope for you. You are in a lost place right now. Maybe you are a prostitute, a murderer, a rapist, a thief, a sex trafficker. Maybe God is calling to you, but you just feel in your heart that you have done too many bad things in your life that no one would ever want you. Especially the creator of heaven and earth…

Let me stop you in your tracks right now. Do you know what, sweetheart!?!? You’re NOT THAT POWERFUL!!

Romans 8:38-39 – For I am convinced neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus is our Lord.

DO YOU HEAR THAT!?!? There is no thing. NOTHING that you can do to make God NOT love you! Even if you broke all of the 10 commandments, every single one, God would still love you – just exactly as he did when he first formed in your mothers womb.

Jeremiah 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart;

God has also set you apart. he has a specific design and purpose for you!!!

Jeremiah 29:11 – I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.

God’s Word Translation – Plans for peace and NOT disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.

God has plans… FOR YOU!!! It doesn’t matter what you have done, God wants to use you for good, and have a loving father relationship with you. Many of you have no idea what a good father is… what he would look like. You have been hurt so badly by past experiences that the last thing you want in your life is a father.

Can I ask you though… Have you EVER known anyone. Anyone in your life that would die for you? I’ve known a lot of selfless people. Many honorable people. But none have I ever known that would knowingly take on every curse, every burden, every shame, every evil deed of the current time and for all future generations upon himself. In this humanly existence, it is easy to be prideful and selfish, thinking only on your own existence. But not God. He just wants to love you!

John 16:33 – I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.

John 15: 9-13 – Jesus, God’s son says, “I have loved you even as the Father (God) has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so you will be filled joy. yes, your joy will overflow! This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Vs. 16-17 goes on to say, “You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the father will give you what you ask for using my (Jesus’) name. This is my command: Love each other.

In this passage, Jesus says there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. That’s exactly what happened… isn’t it?

But there is a key word in that passage: Friends. We all know that Jesus died for us, but to know that in advance he considers us all to be friends!!

I’ve always been a loner in life. Always had a hard time making and keeping friends. But to know that God considers me to be a friend… without asking, without prompting or probing me, without me even KNOWING! I had a true friend all along. One who won’t abandon, deceive, lie or hurt me. One who only wants to help me and make good things out of bad. Not only that – but a friend who willingly received one of the most brutal deaths of all time. For ME! For YOU!!!

This sounds like a friend I would really want to know. Does it to you?

And we believe and we know the love that God has for us, for God is love and everyone who lives in love, lives in God! So, you see – there is nothing you can do to separate you from God’s love! Jesus has already paid your ransom. All you have to do is reach out with your heart and mind and proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord!

When you do, your mind will be transformed. God will start showing his beautiful and perfect will for you, and slowly as you look to him more and more you will realize his grace and mercy.

You see, even if you despise God, hate, loathe, or even refuse to believe that God even exists. You are still very special to him, for you are a child of his as he has a beautiful hand in your creation.

Just as each plant is so particularly lovely, you are even more so. Thorns and all!

Come like a rushing wind, come light the fire again, come like a burning flame. Have your way. Have your way…

Thank you for joining me today. I pray that the words reached out to you. I hope that in some way they spoke to your heart and soul. I thank God for you. May you be blessed this beautiful Easter weekend!

Help In Trouble

Today is a day it would be very easy to revert. A cigarette would sure be nice… A drink… A toke… Just forget all of it and call it a movie day. Laze around and forget everything. Be a glutton and eat everything in front of me. Right? Sounds good…

But, nothing gets accomplished that way. Nothing actually gets better. It only gets worse.

But Proverbs, written by one of the wisest Kings that roamed the Earth says this:

Vs. 6 – 11 Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Though they have no price or governor or ruler to make them work, they labor hard all summer, gathering food for the winter. But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up? A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest – then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

So many things compounded to make for an overwhelming situation… If it’s not the cats getting into the trash, it’s the mice taking over my kitchen. If it’s not my daughter (age 4) cutting her hair, it’s my son throwing temper tantrums. If it’s not my dishes running over, it’s the laundry mountain I must climb. If it’s not the bookkeeping calling my name, it’s the sales tax reports I must file.

Overwhelming to say the least. But you know what? Even though at every second I can feel my heartbeat in my chest due to building anxiety and stress – I am comforted that God is right here with me. He is holding me up. He is my strength.

Psalms 46:1-5

1God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.

2Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change
And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

3Though its waters roar and foam,
Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah.

4There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
The holy dwelling places of the Most High.

5God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.

The definition of trouble is: to disturb the mental calm and contentment of; worry; distress; agitate. To put to inconvenience, exertion, pains, or to cause bodily pain, discomfort, or disorder to; afflict.

A lot of times we think of actual trouble as a situation we cannot escape. A situation that is dire. But according to this definition, anything that causes the above IS trouble. SOOOO – the scripture says that “God is in the midst of her (trouble)… God will help her when morning dawns.” Oh my. That is comforting to me. Isn’t that to you? Through the midst of it all, God is at the center, giving me strength I don’t attain on my own.

Psalms 73:26 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

My feelings EXACTLY today!

Dear Jesus – thank you for blessing me with this! I really need your guidance today. Please give me the strength to not be overwhelmed by the tasks at hand. Please stretch the time so that my children & I can dye eggs too… That would be wonderful! Let my heart be peaceful through the strength of your spirit. Please bless other people who are reading this and might feel like they are alone in their situation, reassure them through me that they are not. Amen.

Old Junky Pennies

Mark 12:41-44 ESV

And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/a-store-clerk-rejected-her-dirty-jar-of-pennies-she-came-back-with-guns/ar-BBz3YlV?ocid=spartanntp

This link, is for an article of a woman in Florida who only had a jar of pennies to pay for the things she needed from the store. The clerk rejected her form of money and she threatened to kill him but stormed out instead.

Have you ever been SO POOR financially that this is all you had? Desperate for the things you needed but only had pennies and probably just enough gas even to make it to the store- just running on fumes? I have. More times than I can count.

Have you ever been desperate for something but have no control over the situation in which to attain it? It seems all the odds are stacked against you and there’s now way up/ out/ pointed in the direction you need? I have. It is infuriating. It will push you to insanity.

I believe this woman here was in this position. I sympathize with her. I hope she reads this, because dear sweetheart – you are not alone! Did you know that your beautiful pennies have much value? MUCH VALUE!

In the verse above, Jesus is telling his disciples in front of the Treasury – very important financial record keepers of the Jewish Temple that this woman’s single penny – all that she had – is worth more than the rich people’s thousands and thousands of dollars.

This is why, when in church or in a giving situation – if all you have are a couple pennies… Don’t hesitate to give what you have. Even though to everyone else it may seem miniscule. To God? It shows how much you truly love him. How much you trust him to do what is right with your last penny.

Sweet beautiful, lady in Florida. Take heart. Your pennies are treasures!

Toxic Oils

Dear Jesus- Please speak through me, please speak through my words to reach the right people. Open their minds to absorb what you have to say to them.       Amen.

Hi, I am Melissa. I have many stories to tell.

I am a sweet natured, fun loving gal. I love to have dance parties with my 2 & 4 year old. My husband & I own a company making hand forged garden tools.

Most of all, I love connecting with God and listening to his voice. I am more in tune with Him now, than I ever have been.

JewelweedDoes anyone know what the plant pictured is? Jewel Weed (Impatiens Capensis), an annual plant, native to America, found in forests. Does anyone know what this beautiful plant does? Not only does it have such beautiful orange and red blooming colors adorning wild landscapes, it has healing properties.

Who here is allergic to Poison Ivy? Poison Ivy (Toxicodendron Radicans), a perennial native to the samePoison Ivy landscape as the Jewel Weed. A family member of the Almond family. It is eaten by many wild animals, but to most humans, it’s sap creates an excruciating rash. If the affected area is washed and scrubbed immediately, it will most likely not end up with rash. But left untreated, it will end in disaster! Poison Ivy Rash

Uniquely enough, these two plants purposefully placed together in the wilderness. One the accuser, the other the antidote. One’s sap causes the rash. The other’s sap cures it.

An example of evil, and good. Jewel Weed works in a very interesting way. It penetrates down into the skin and breaks up the toxic oils which have caused the rash. This reminds me of how God works! He reaches down deep, under the sin, under the hurt, under the bad experiences and releases oils of love which break up all the toxic oils in your life.

Parable of the Yeast: Luke 13:20-21 (NLT Version)

He also asked, “What else is the Kingdom of God like? It is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

So, just as Jewel Weed permeates the rash and breaks it up, so does the Kingdom of God permeate every hurt, pain, sin in your life. Every nook and cranny of your heart, mind and soul. He makes everything to work together for good for those who are called to His purpose.

Dear Heavenly Father, I just want to thank you now for every person who’s read this. Thank you for permeating my soul, reaching into the dark crannies of my life and gently breaking up the toxic oil inside me. Lord, please continue to sweetly convict my heart and mind of life patterns that are not keeping with your will for my life and your word. Amen.
